The Council has left no stone unturned in helping India emerge from being not only a large diamond manufacturing and processing centre but also a global trading hub for Gems and Jewellery. The government is planning to establish more diamond bourses in the country. The Council has been working in tandem with the government and inviting prospective countries to trade with us. Recently, we signed a memorandum of understanding with the Israeli diamond industry to conduct joint businesses. A few delegates visited Bangladesh to renew trade ties with the country. Our efforts are paying dividends and all the diamond-trading nations are looking upon India with esteem and I am sure we have been able to live up to everyone’s expectations. In the domestic front, the ANANT campaign has been going as per our anticipations and the third edition of IIJS Signature Goa, which is just round the corner, is the event of the New Year which I am looking forward to attend. |
